MX5 NC Rear Powerlite Four Piston Brake Upgrade. Upgrade to the lightweight Wilwood four-piston Powerlite and shed roughly 5lbs per corner! After extensive CAD modeling and FEA testing, we've spec'd our kits with ultra-stiff and strong 6061 brackets instead of the common 6061. Precision CNC machined for perfect alignment over the OE rotors, which requires no modification to the upright to install. We've designed our mounting to shift the caliper to the axle center line for both performance and aesthetics to match the fronts.  This kit pairs excellently with both of our four-piston front kits!

What's included:

  • V8R Powerlite 4 piston calipers with the parking brake
  • 6061 CNC Aluminum Mounting Brackets
  • Stainless Steel brake lines
  • Mounting hardware

Please note: Kits do not come with brake pads or rotors. The NC kit requires the customer to source Mazda 5 rear rotors(Centric Parts 121.45065) and does not work with our NC rear two-piece rotors.

Park brake - the park brake in this kit does not offer the same clamping force as the OEM. The holding power will not support the vehicle on an inclined slope.

Would it be possible for a friction ring of the appropriate diameter to be made available, allowing this to be used with your two-piece rotors? I believe that combination would be the lowest weight brake system possible. JEREMY MOTE asked on February 24, 2025

Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for your inquiry . A custom rotor could indeed be made to the larger diameter, but please note that we have not produced this kit to date.

Best regards,

Does this fit RX8? Customer asked on November 22, 2024

Hi Hlynur,

No, the RX8 uses a vented rear rotor. The NC is a solid disc.
