V8 Roadsters LSx swap kit has lead the way for Miata conversions since 2007. Multiple years of engineering, R&D, and real-world testing, offer the best solution for mounting the 3rd or 4th gen LSx platform. Both manual and automatic transmissions can be fitted using the F-Body T56 or 4L60e transmission. Our tubular subframe maintains all OEM suspension pickup points and steering geometry, with our engine placement that retains the great balance characteristic which made the Miata legendary. CNC formed frame rails are designed to increase the torsional strength of the uni-body while doubling as the transmission mounting support. Powder coated in silver vain gray.
Kit includes
- CAD designed and multi-year tested lightweight tubular subframe for LSx engines.
- Lightweight engine plates and Energy polyurethane mounts.
- Transmission cross member with provisions for 3 exhaust routing for T56 transmission and Energy polyurethane mount. Made from DOM tubing.
- Laser-cut and CNC profiled frame rails for added torsional strength and uni-body bracing.
- Necessary hardware to install grade 8 or better zinc finished.
- Dark gray gloss powder coat.

Mounting kits are built to order. Lead times vary and it is best to contact us for the current lead time. New transmission options available from Magnum F - Tremec TUET16363(wide ratio) and TUEt16362(close ratio).

Hi Lawrence - We do not have a kit for the older SBC. The best option would be use use our standard kit and make custom engine plates to adapter to the block to suit.
Hello - no, the TKX is dimensionally different. It share similar mounting to the T5 transmission.
Hi Chris - The LQ4 can be used with our swap kit. It will require swapping the intake, accessories & crank pulley to suit the chassis.

Worked like a charm with my LS2 and T56. Put it on the engine while it was still on the stand, move it to a lift table and install the T56, then the whole package slots in underneath. Stock suspension fits perfectly.

So I’m doing an SBC swapped Miata and I ordered lots of stuff pre getting this kit (that came with everything I could possibly need) and I had bought aluminum adapters for LS to SBC… come to find out, the motor mounts that come with the kit USE SBC bolt pattern and just have a plate with the LS pattern bolted on so my motor literaly just dropped in place, anyways, exited to see how it turns out 😀

This should always be the first part to buy! It sets everything up perfectly for whats to come and makes the build feel real knowing everything is going to fit perfect, which in fact it did! Bolted right up, motor dropped right in, headers fit, cleared my custom oil pan, and boom just like that the build was already 60% done! It’s just sad that you can barely see this work of art until you get under the car. But knowing this kit is there gives me piece of mind because I know everything is where it’s supposed to be and stronger than ever! V8Roadsters is the ONLY place to find/buy quality parts for these builds. 10/10 every time!

It’s almost a shame to hide these welds under the car. This is truly the “easy button” for perfectly locating the drivetrain. Why anyone would not take this route is beyond my comprehension. V8R has done all of the homework required to make everything work the first time around. Don’t over think it. This kit is a no brainer!

This is the first item for your LS swap. Engine, trans and everything lines up perfectly and retains all of your factory suspension and steering pick up points. Puts the engine in the perfect location and allows clearance for headers and starter.
