Our V8R ND Cowl Stabilizer Braces are the next best option to seam welding for stiffening the MX5’s uni-body in all aspects. The cowl stabilizer braces join the thinner fender material into the stout core of the uni-body via four locations. Our square tubing offers the best torsion stiffness via uniform geometry and larger cross-sectional area, yielding better tension and compression than plate and rectangular styles while offering the lowest weight-to-strength ratio. The main tube directly ties the lower door hinge, the stiffest area of the uni-body, to the upper mounting point of the fender, area of the least structure. The triangulated center of the brace transfers load across the entire section of the fender area. The braces keep close to the chassis to help eliminate flexing between the four mounting locations. Powder coated in silver vain gray. Cowl Stabilizer Braces installation instructions. Worth the money!
I installed these prior to a track weekend and noticed a huge difference. The front felt so much more planted and confidence inspiring! Not only do they make the car feel great, I have a set of fender vents installed and they give the car a pop of color through the vents!

Cowl Stabilizer Braces
The instructions were great and made the install a breeze. After installing these and putting some miles on the car, I noticed that the front end felt more responsive in the corners and more stable at higher speeds.

Bolted these up to my 94 without drama. Fitment was spot on, no clearance issues with the fender and noticed significant reduction in cowl shake on uneven roads.
