V8R StopTech STR kit is the ultimate in Miata brake performance! The STR-42 is the smallest and lightest 4-piston caliper developed from StopTech. Designed with high fluid pressures and forces in-mind, the STR-42 is the preferred option for blade type rotor systems. The stiff, lightweight STR-42 caliper provides a level of performance that did not exist before. It has a 30% increase in pad volume over traditional 4 piston lug mount kits. Paired with our CAD designed and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tested hats that weigh in just over 1lb, and are designed with cooling reliefs for greater thermal dissipation. 11.750″ rotors offer the largest thermal capacity available under 15″ wheels. Standard with our American made plain face directional rotors or optional PFC rotors. The rear-axle application we've worked directly with StopTech and engineered the lightweight STR-21 caliper over both the sport and non-sport rotor. The STR21 was designed to be used for the rear axle that requires less pad volume than the STR-22 and non-vented, solid rotors. This package can be implemented in smaller wheel diameters, typical of most front-wheel drive race cars. Even with its smaller size, the STR-21 maintains caliper stiffness and optimal pad wear to provide the best performance in its class.

Wheel Fitment

When wanted to offer the best performance in every single category, including wheel fitment. Our 11.75″  kits will clear most current aftermarket 15″ wheels. Fitment template is available via email. Proper wheel clearance is the responsibility of the end-user.

Design

All V8R parts are CAD designed and FEA tested and machined in house with today’s latest CNC equipment. This kit has been tested extensively in the harshest conditions, both on the street and at the race track.

Spare Parts

Like any kit destined to be used for years on the track, the ready supply of spare parts is incredibly important when considering whether or not to buy an aftermarket braking system for your MX5. We took this into consideration when designing this kit, and as such are able to keep the price of consumables lower than almost any other brake kit on the market today. Rotor rings, brake pads, and hardware are all readily available through us, as well as many online vendors. Because this caliper uses a pad shape that has been in production for over two decades, along with a rotor size and bolt pattern shared with many off-the-shelf brake solutions, parts will always be affordable and readily available.
